The issue is that I made a purchase on ebay on 05/14/10, Friday mind you and as of today I have still not received the card. I usually don't worry about that length of time because mail has been slow as of late. the problem I have is that the seller refuses to send information about tracking of the item. I fell the card should be in my hand by now I know that mail is slow but we are both in TEXAS!

I know that Texas is big, but it is not that big. Sellers go crazy when payment is slow but they seem not to care when they don't have the same courtesy toward the buyer. How hard is it to print a DC from paypal, put it in a bubble mailer and drop it off in a drop box. I have never been more then a day or two at most mailing off a purchase. This is really getting ridiculous lately.

Do I have a legitimate beef?

Arrived!! With D/C. Why could the person not just send the D/C when I asked? BTW they were only 2 hours away. Mail must really be slow.

No. Seller should be able to ship something off in 2-3 days max. It always seems the card you want the most is the slow shipper and card really don't card that much about shows up instantly.

Re: I am asking too much?

well rev, patience is a virtue! lol!

if it's only been a week, give it another. not all sellers use paypal shipping method so for those who have regular work and such, it's a bit difficult to go to the post office in the middle of the week

i give 3 weeks before i even inquire about if my purchase has been shipped or not so honestly, a week is really not a big deal imo...

and watch, it'll be in your mailbox tomorrow!

Re: I am asking too much?

As both a huge buyer and huge seller, I'd say 7 days isn't nearly long enough. 2 weeks, start to worry a little. 1 week, barely even worth a follow up email. Just my opinion.

If it's not there by next Friday, then start to worry.

Re: I am asking too much?

I've noticed that not too many people actually read "SHIPPING AND HANDLING TIME."

Every once and a while, I'll catch a "10 DAYS SHIPPING AND HANDLING TIME" -- Maybe check that first, I durno.

I normally wait 3 weeks before I email and I make it perfectly clear that I could care less when he mailed the card, I'd just like to know when to expect it. Crap happens and sometimes people can't get to the post-office.

Most of the time, people will fess up and say they hadn't mailed it until like 2 weeks afterward and I'll still leave five stars. I just get really cheesed when people say they mailed it the next day but the postage says they mailed it 2 weeks afterwards.

Re: I am asking too much?

If it was just the time thing then I'd probably say I didn't think it was a big deal at this point.....
but the fact that he can't/won't provide a tracking number is grounds to raise some red-flags or justify being upset.
Not being able to ship for a couple days isn't great, but it may be understandable.....taking a week is pretty poor, unless you stated in your auction you only can ship on Saturday's or something.

Re: I am asking too much?

Dude must likely only ships once a week so if you bought it on Friday and he only ships say that
day(Friday) and does it on his lunch hour then he is shipping today which is a week later then you bought it,
because your purchase was after he went to the PO.

So if it is not here by next Friday I would be pissed then. So to answer your Question
are you asking to much.ummmm this is not for me to decided :D

not all sellers use paypal shipping method

I have used it before but found back in the day when i used it, it was more expensive then the regular post-office. Who knows how it is now.

But i wouldnt care or even ask for 2-3 weeks. I bought an Andrew Oliver auto off of a guy a 3 weeks ago an just now got it in the mail. I asked the guy the day before whats up an didnt demand a DC or anything i even said if you didnt send it yet that is ok i just want to make sure that you didnt forget about it.

You should just ask seller what day he plans on sending stuff out and pay him the night before.

"Hi, I'm afraid I have some disappointing news. Your package came BACK to me in the mail because the postage sticker has been RIPPED OFF of the package! Evidently, the good ol' post office tried to put the envelope through one of its automated sorting machines, which they are NOT supposed to do, because it's a parcel! HOWEVER, none of the contents in the package were damaged at all. I am RE-mailing a different package out to you in Tuesday morning's mail. Please, please, if you get time, let me know when you receive the package so that I will know it got to you OK this time. I figured you had already received it until I saw it in my mailbox. I sincerely apologize for this delay, but I am doing everything I can to get your package to you. I really appreciate your patience!!

Re: I am asking too much?

worse case the seller ships every week and you just missed it, which means the card went out the 20th. Still too
early to worry. It would be nice to get the tracking though.

And if the seller should be able to ship off in 2-3 days, then the buyer should pay within 1-2 since they know when the auction ends.

Don't worry casebusters, I got about 5 words into your post and started  ing, I knew exactly what you were talking about.

This thread is hilarious! I guess I'm just different, I buy something and wait for it to show up. It's a baseball card, not anything that can actually be used for anything. I mean, it's not like you can't start your research on your final until you get this item. Not anything you actually NEED. And we're adults. Not 8 year olds waiting for our Wii to show up in the mail.

I can see a lot of situations where you might be anxious and impatient for your item to arrive, but none of them involve a baseball card. I'm just sayin...
