I Am Deeply Saddened by This Possible Fake - Might Cry

I decided not long ago to start an 06 Triple Threads project, and get a copy of every Sinorice Moss I could. Funds are extremely tight, so it's on hold after I have 3 total now.

This one would have went BEAUTIFULLY with my other plate of this card, except I think this is a fake. If you look at the only prime piece, it's the white/orange over blue. The Hurricanes don't wear blue uniforms (obviously), and I have NEVER seen an 06 with a piece of college anyways. So if this is a fake, it breaks my heart.

EDIT - Why would you want to fake this guy of all the guys out there?

card mag, i very respectfully disagree. IF i was a faker, i would have done all three pieces. since it is a 1/1 i would have used a more high quality patch. if only faking one, it would have been easier to fake just the middle swatch which is basically a cutout & doesnt have any easily bent cardboard overhanging it.

I thought of that too. It just still doesn't add up for a college piece to sneak in, and for it to be on a blue jersey. It can't even be the Senior Bowl jersey because the number is outlined in orange. It also seems like the orange is hand painted, and the line isn't even straight. It would be nice if you were right.

If anybody can shed some light on where this piece came from, if they've seen a college swatch in 06 TTT, or any other info - please don't be shy about it!

i am not knowlegable about college football uniforms at all, as im a duke fan. they could have screwed up at topps, which is more likely. fakers are usually fairly knowlegable about what theyre faking, so they dont get busted

It is probably just red that was screen printed on. It is more than likely just a piece from a Phil Simms throwback that was worn at the Premiere

I appreciate the input guys. Maybe I'm looking way too far into this because of all of the fakes out there. Things got me paranoid.

You're the second one to mention it might be from a throwback. It looks orange to me though, not red. The lines of the color trim also appear to be too far crooked and waved to be a machine screen print.

I think it's the throwback jersey. I would in no way think it was a fake. If you're going to fake a card, you'd usually make it eye-appealing at least.
