So I just got word that Spencer Havner will be in town on Monday December 14th. I am planning on getting my 2006 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor signed, however I am not sure what color I should have him sign it in.

I am thinking red but I am not 100% sure. What do you guys think?

Thanks!

I say red, but in your other thread someone said that red sharpie doesn't stick to the card like other colors do. I find that strange, so I would find a card from the same year and test it on it.

I agree with this. IMO look up those Staedtler lumocolors since that is what Topps uses for their cards.

You could also go to an art supply store and get a red paint pen, I think that will actually look even better than a red sharpie.

Does someone have a 2006 Bowman Chrome card and red sharpie to test to see if the red sharpie does in fact have an issue of sticking to the card? I looked and I do not have any 2006 Bowman Chrome cards.

I've got a junk 06 Bowman Chrome card...but no red Sharpie.

I would say go with black just because you know it will stick and stand out. I was thinking that if he signs with red, it will get lost when it's over red parts of the Skins jersey. The black will still stand out. The red signature also might not pop much with the red around the card and in the photo.

I really think red would look cool but I agree it may not stand out as well. So I am thinking of leaning towards black. I am going to check out red paint pens this weekend though.

Blue, and make sure you use an eraser on the card first.
The auto will stick to the card much better.

Signing is in about 2 hours or so. I tested out what black and red look like on chrome. I am thinking I will probably go with red:

I do have a base gold, base chrome and a refractor that I will probably get signed in black.

blue, always on chrome cards. Paintpens don't look good on cards. There's a reason Topps uses blue ink for the chrome autographs.

I've never got a red ref signed but I've got a few golds signed that I could show you if you wanted to see what they look like in blue.
