Just flew in from Pittsburgh. Was around Robinson area and went to Toys R Us and saw blaster box of 2011 Topps Update for discount of $12.99. I decide to purchase it. When I opened up the box I knew something is fishy. When I feel the patch pack I knew it was too thin to a patch card. Opened it up and it was update set card of Pablo Sandoval. Open rest of the packs and there were few with one to three 1988 Topps cards in it. Looks like I got scammed from someone who purchased the box earlier, took the "good cards", sealed it back and returned it.

I had this happen with a box of 2004 topps traded back in the day. The efforts folks will go to get a few cards.

What I don't get was if the "throwback patch" separate pack was re-sealed. Didn't think you could do that w/ foil? :???:

And the irony of it being 1988 Topps they put in there is just awful...

That's a bummer man, sorry that happened to you...in the future, try not to buy retail unless its like a blaster with the manufacturer's wrapping sealed on it and untampered

This has happened to me before too. The question is who do you trust anymore? Seems like everywhere you go there are stories like this.

They are uber-rare Topps 62nd Anniversary stealth buy-back insert cards, commemorating the 22nd anniversary of Topps's 40th Anniversary buy-back inserts. Congratulations.

I used to spend hundreds on retail wax since we've got no hobby shops. One day, I walked into WalMart and found a guy in his 60's, work gloves in his back pocket, opening packs in the aisle to see what was inside.

That's when I stopped buying a ton of retail.

I only buy retail for building sets. This particular blaster I would have taken back and gotten a refund for.

I have one at home that I bought from Wal-Mart that i need to take back. I bought 10 of the 2012 Topps Series 1 blasters that were marked down $12. 9 of them were fine but one had been taped back together and filled with at least one empty pack of marlboros (I didn't open si further since the tape was still holding everything together, figure I have a better chance of a refund if I don't open the rest). I had a couple of these resealed boxes when I bought around 100 $9 2010 topps blasters from dacardworld.com. I never bothered to try to get a refund since I figured I'd bring it up with my next order but haven't had the need to order anything from them for a few months so I'm probably out of luck.
