That is definitely one of the funniest things I have read on a trading card board recently, even if a little misguided.

I can't see how anyone who took rack packs with stars on top/bottom could be considered pack searchers. Unless the seller forced you to reach into a box at random (I'm sure some of the shops were pulling a lot of the best packs for themselves to sell at a premium), you can't help but pick the pack with a star on top. I guess if you figured out a sequence that could guarantee a certain card, that is getting closer to pack searching.

I remember it was 94-96, can't remember the specific year now, but Fleer had those doublewides team leader cards that had the gritty feel to them. I remember feeling one completely by accident (of course that card was on the top of the pack). I was then able to successfully find a few more of those, but it was not foolproof. My sense of touch must not have been calibrated, because I ended up with as many, if not more packs with nothing. It also didn't require molestation to happen, it was simply sliding your hand over the top of the pack to see if it felt a little like sandpaper.
