I feel terrible about this Ebay problem...

I guess I brought this on myself. I put in my ebay auctions that the card looks to be in great condition. Someone bought a card from me and requested that I send it ASAP. I sent it as soon as possible. A few days later the buyer contacted me and sain that the card has a ding in the corner. I apologized and wrote back that I would refund his money plus the extra cost for him to send it back. He waited five days to answer back and wrote this:

The frustration is I don't have the time for all this. File paypal claim, go buy bubble envelope, go to Postoffice and ship back confirm. I'm frustrated that sellers are not up front. A low numbered card like that cannot be slabbed/graded out with a corner like that at even a 7. It's not the worse but for grading it's terrible. I haven't decided what to do. I do appreciate the fact that you want to make right on the deal. I'm grateful for that. But things have to be up front not all this hassle on the back end.

I feel very bad about how this turned out and I am trying to make it right with him. I no longer put anything about the condition in my auctions since I apparently don't have the eyesight of a card grader. I just wish I had caught the damage before I sent the card. Sorry for the terrible read. I just had to say this.

people make mistakes. You did nothing wrong and handled the situation very well. Don't beat yourself up for it so much...

The only thing you did wrong was describe the condition of the card in your auction. However, I assume you posted a picture?

You did the right thing to try and resolve it.

Wow all you have to do is tell the guy to use the same bubble mailer and tell him
to use PP shipping and tape that puppy to the same mailer and make sure it is thick enough
and then he can drop it in his mailbox. So tell him to get over himself. ::facepalm::

Good Luck with this one

Let me play him the world's saddest song on the world's smallest violin.
He's getting his money back. Oh so he has to pay for a bubble mailer and file a claim and goto the post office. What did you do to get the card to him? Basically the same thing. At least 50% of sellers would not have refunded him. Don't feel bad at all for him.

Mistakes happen, and most people understand this. It's how you handle a mistake, and you handled the situation admirably.

What was the card? Some people can just be over picky and almost impossible to please.

Shane Victorino 2003 Leaf Certified Mirror Emerald 2/5. The ding was supposed to be in the top left corner.

If that scan was on eBay, I can see the ding on the lower left hand corner. What's the problem again?

He said there was a ding in the upper left corner. I guess I should have taken a better look at the card. This is the first time that I've had any trouble like this with anyone on ebay. I have 750 feedback with zero negatives.

You obviously shouldn't have said anything more than NM-MT in your description, but it's unbelievable how people think you should be helpful to them so they can get your card graded and end up making money on it.

I don't see any problem with the auction at all. There is a clear picture and no mention of a guaranteed grade.

If you want a Pristine card, buy a Pristine graded card!

If the guy was excepting a gem outta that card he is sadly mistaken. Those are foil cards. It seems everyone excepts gem mint cards from ebay these days. I also noticed many buyers are looking for partial refunds on anything they buy on Ebay.

The ding on the corner can be really small. I am sure you would notice something major. Foil cards are rarely mint or better.
