So I am trying to win a certain item at a certain auction house's online auction tonight. The bidding was already supposed to end over 30 minutes ago, but there is this "15-minute rule." If any item in the entire auction is bid on then the time until the end of the auction is reset to 15 minutes. It is driving me nuts. No one is bidding on the item I want yet I have to wait forever to try to win the auction. Anyone ever heard of this before. What are your thoughts?

I use to play SWG a lot and a 15 minute no snipe rule was quite common.

I belived that most online auction houses follow this rule.
The REA Musial auction I bid on this past spring went like 8-10 extra hours. However, that was a huge auction, this one I would think wont last but a few extra hours.
Glad you are going after it.
I have one item I bid on, will be happy if I get it.

Hopefully this one doesn't last to long or I'll be up all night  Good luck on your auction. Thanks again for your help!

Yeah, it kind of sucks. 15 minutes is a looong time on the net. I think it should be either 5 minutes or if they really want to drag it out, limit it to people who already placed a bid during regulation.

We must be on the same site. As i was at work at 8pm cst when it was supposed to end....it's now 1030 and the item i'm currently winning has now been pushed to my max bid. Any longer I might go crazy

whats the item id of what your going for?

They really should use the 15 minute rule per item, not the entire auction. It's pretty lame if you ask me.

However.... when it's per item I like to bid with a few seconds left, and if i'm outbid, wait 15 minutes to bid again, and so on...

You're probably safe to say what you're bidding on since you must have already bid to be able to bid in the extended bidding period.
