Sorry in advance for the long rant.

Ok, so I was trying to do some christmas shopping when I decided to go to a flea market. They didnt have anything I needed to get anyone so I went over to a card shop they have in there. I saw they had some loose packs of 2008 allen and ginter for $2 each. The lady counted them up and told me she had 23 packs. So I took all of them, went in the car and started opening them. When I started opening them I realized that there were 3 of them that were opened already. So I go back in the shop and tell the lady and kind of started to say I think someone searched them. I can tell she is angry when I said that and she promised me that there is no way that they were searched as she never took the cards off the shelf and never let customers go through the packs. So Stupid me believes her and keeps opening. The whole time I felt like they were all searched and was really wasting my time. When I'm done opening all of them, I have a total of 0 hits. I go back to her and tell her that they were searched and I tell her thank you for stealing my money and wasting my time and left the ****** cards on the counter.

It's only $46 i'm out of but i'm furious right now. I should have realized when I asked about the packs as they werent even in the normal allen and ginter box, they were in a black box with an empty pack taped to the front.

Rant over. Pretty much had $46 stolen from me from some old bitch and her husband. Both of them dont seem to be happy people in the first place. I know this is pretty much my fault for believing her but still.

if i remember correctly, those allen and ginter packs weren't really sealed well

i've opened boxes and blasters and from SEALED boxes, some of the packs were opened which makes it look like it was searched but was not (unless someone did a hell of a job resealing those boxes from cases from both target and my lcs. lol)

im sure some people here who've opened ginter would vouch for this (or is it just me??)

which is why I kept going. If there are supposed to be 3 hits per box and only 1 pack was missing from a full box, I would say it was searched

First off, ginter packs don't have a problem with becoming unsealed. Second they are VERY EASY to search. Third
however, is that 90% of ginter hits are 5 dollar game used cards. Some of the better money is in the minis...bazooka
and no number back cards. Anything good there?

nothing. no bakooza's or no numbers

I was so angry I didnt even take the cards home, but I knew they were all crap. Maybe could have gotten $5 total for them

I opened a case and in my boxes I did have a few packs that seemed to be open or not sealed right. Dave you was correct.
Even a blaster I bought a few months later had some packing issues. I think total there was less then 10 packs.

To the OP. When ever I go into a card shop ( I only have 2 close enough to me) I look at what packs they have and in what. You said that they were all in a black box and not the Original Ginter box. Well for me that would have said searched since they were moving the left overs. Sorry to hear this happened to you. And as others have said don't go back there. Unless you can buy sealed boxes.

I have a great card shop in Greensboro. When the hits have been taken out of a box, especially early on after the box
has been opened, the dealer takes it off the table and later on sells the packs for like 2 dollars or 1 dollar. I have been
on both sides, opening a fresh box and hitting 3 hits in 5 packs, and I have also hit all 3 hits in the last three packs.
Of course with 23 packs, you know you got screwed. 46 bucks aint bad. You are now a smarter man. If you want
a few hits from ginter, let me know who you collect and I might be able to send you something on the house.

$5.10 for a 1986 Topps Rickey Henderson? I have a hundred I will sell to them for $2 a piece. What a deal  Even Burbank is not this ridiculous.

To original post, sorry about getting ripped off. I have had it happen to me.
