My first church league softball game is tonight and we haven't even practiced yet. Plus it is Cinco de Mayo and I am trying to figure out if I should eat Mexican food before the game or not.

Not slow pitch, but I play hardball in a 35+ league. This is my 2nd year and I love it. Not many things beat playin ball!

Fast pitch is fun! My good friend is was going to play in the Golden league this year in Schaumburg Flyers. He was a first rounder out of high school. The Dr. Cut him during the physicals. Something to do with 9 arm surgeries I suppose

I use to play in college a lot. we had a GDI team that was raking. I remembered we played this one team, first game of the season, and they had this guy who could KILL the ball, I believe he hit one 400ft or more, we beat the snot out of those guys. I had a 3 run bomb first pitch I saw..

Oh those were the days

Had my third game of the season last night. We've run (mercy) ruled all 3 teams we've played so far. We have an interesting mix of 30, 40 & 50-year olds on my team. The 50 year olds are better than the majority of the 30 year olds.

I have a personal goal of 120 RBI's this year. In 35ish games, I'd have to average a tad over 3 a game. Very doable.

Hmmm... Well, since your team hasn't practiced yet, it seems as if everyone might just be out there to have fun, no matter what the outcome is. Therefore, eat the mexican food, fart your way through the game, and enjoy the memories.

My church has a softball team and we've had three practices so far. Can't wait for the season to start.

Sam,

enjoy it man. I love it! We play in a competitive league in Itasca, alot of ex college baseball players in the league. We have played two games and are 2-0 with one 5 inning slaughter rule of up 12 after 5 innings.

It definitely helps me keep my competitive juices flowing! Can't wait for Thursday, two bad it is at 9:00.

We started playing at the beginning of April. I play on 3 teams - two are all women and one is coed. Last week was one of my better weeks hitting - in 4 games (had a doubleheader for one of my teams) - I had 7 doubles.

We have already started playing :D

Had 4 weekends in a row with practices and then this past weekend was the season opening tournament.

We went 5-2, coming in 2nd place in a double elimination, bracket style tourney. Our team is one of the better teams in the area, so we have a full season slate PLUS a tournament or two per month.

Gonna be a LONG season, but I LOVE it.

Currently sitting at 4-2, with 3 wins in the playoffs.

If slow-pitch softball practice involves anything other than lifting drinks and eating hot wings...I'd hate to see your sliding skirts.
