I've always been a fan of Ellis. Great glove, a little pop, a little speed, good clubhouse guy, etc. It's too bad he just wasn't getting it done here in Oakland, but I'm happy to see him get off to an amazing start in Colorado.

A good start. I am still quite skeptical - and the black hole position that is 2nd Base for the Rockies will probably engulf him. I hope he gives us some stability there.

(That Juan Nicasio, though...)

He can go 0 for his next sixty and still have a higher slugging percentage than the rest of our 2nd base bums. Nicasio is sick-nasty at home.

And out of Double-A, no doubt. What luck after the Greg Reynolds collapse.

Also: Blackmon with his first-career bomb. ;)

Mark Ellis will have better numbers in Colorado, but as an A's fan, I view him as the epitome of a nice, average Player...

Ellis was top-10 in WAR last year for 2B (yes, I know WAR is not the end all, be all). Of course, his fielding is so high above replacement level that all he has to do is hit .250 to be a huge upgrade in Colorado.

3 for 5 with 3 more doubles last night. Is he going to go all Adrian Gonzalez now that he is out of Oaktown? ;)

I think I'll have to just keep this thread alive while Ellis is scorching! 2 for 5 with a homerun today. 8 for 15 with 4 doubles, 1 homerun, 5 runs, 7 rbi in 3 games with COL.

Mark Ellis is one of those team favorites that every A's fan should have appreciated. I'm sure the Rockies will appreciate him also. He's a gamer, and he'll play his heart out. Good luck Mark Ellis with the Rockies!

I was extremely disappointed that the Giants couldn't get him. After Sanchez got hurt I was really hoping they would make a deal for him.
