She came to my workplace to do a tour. She has a very "manly" handshake, strong and confident.

Pretty sweet!

I met her a couple of different times while working at a Toyota plant in the mid-90's. At the time, she worked for Toyota in Japan as an English teacher and a ringer for their corporate fast-pitch softball team. On her first visit (a few weeks after the '96 Olympics), we had a drawing where a few folks could win a chance to take one swing at her fastball. One of the guys who got his name drawn made the mistake of trash-talking her before stepping into the box. Her first pitch knocked him on his ass.

On her 2nd tour of Toyota plants in spring of '97, she brought her whole Japanese team with her as they were playing in a tournament in the states. They played an exhibition against a team of us beer-leaguers (they let us recruit a pitcher from a local high school). She only pitched two innings and we had one guy hit a double off of her on a change-up and another reach on catcher's interference. The guy who reached on catcher's interference actually tried to steal a base with two outs in the inning while I was batting. He got thrown out and it pretty much bailed me out as I hadn't seen either of the two pitches she threw to me. I got to face a mere mortal the next inning and didn't look like such a fool. It was a neat experience. I have it on video tape somewhere.
