I really miss base UD, base Topps and Topps Chrome.

And maybe not Lo-end, but Bowman/Chrome was usually good too.

That is odd.
Though I guess I'm not surprised....I've said for some time that Basketball is really the worst sport for collecting and ROI......it seems more geared to the big names, the big hits and the high-end sets.
I know that doesn't apply to anyone - but you see far less set collecting, team collectors, etc.

That being, I thought Panini was trying to account for all type of collector's - including cheaper stuff that may appeal to retail and kids.

This year's low end wax is 2009-10 Panini products.

All the prices have tanked, and if Griffin didn't get hot, I can't imagine how low the stuff would have gotten.

I got a box of contenders for $55 and HOF for $38, the stuff is dirt cheap right now.

I miss Topps. Last year I was loving base Topps and I'm always a big fan of chrome. These days I pretty much stick with baseball.

Man - I hadn't checked.....I figured it would have gotten a bump due to Griffin.
Good call then on that being low-end wax......may have to pick something up, honestly I think I'd rather bust last year's stuff (rookie wise) than this year.

That's what I've been doing, pulled a couple decent Blakes already, and it feels great busting at half cost!!! :D

Half off cost would be nice. Only boxes I bought last year on release were Threads and Crown Royale. Some great looking cards in those sets and pulled what should be some decent hits......problem was the resale value was horrible.
I know it's not all about resale value - but when you actually get a pretty good box and then see the value is about %25 (at best) the box price.....it's tough not to feel a little disappointed.

So yeah, I'd have to agree......seems it would be a ton more fun at $40-50 instead of $70-90.

With the prices down, I'm gonna try some 09/10 Crown Royale soon. Not so much for the resale value, although it is a good class, but more 'cuz it seems like a fun rip and I loved the old ones.
