When you combine obvious tools, determination, and insight into a left handed 6 foot 5 frame the end result is normally quite impressive. I expect this to be the case with Mike Montgomery as well, and have been buying up his autographs from 2008 Bowman Chrome Draft. Also keep in mind that as he rockets up Baseball America’s top 25 prospect list, anything with his signature on it should offer great returns.

I can remember people being very upset when they pulled these from their breaks back in 2008. I wish I would have purchased a lot more when I had the chance, but these were my Montgomery purchases dating back to June of last year. Most off eBay, some off some FCB members. I pulled quite a few base from my breaks as well. Wish I would have sent them off to BGS for my upcoming flip.

6/28/2009 $5.50
6/29/2009 $5.00
7/23/2009 $5.00
7/23/2009 $5.00
8/4/2009 $3.54
9/1/2009 $10.50 (BGS 9.5/10)
9/4/2009 $7.00
4/14/2010 $15.00 (Refractor)

Articles like these concern me. I've been buying him for several months now and currently own around 150 of his autos, mainly chrome and EEE. The article concerns me because I don't want his prices going up any more! Kidding aside, I agree with you 100% about him and think he will be a major stud. I've seen him pitch 3 times in person and love his stuff. Nice one Gilmo!

Two words: card treasury

it needs a writer

The hot list has a writer

more than most has a writer

Any new column concept would require a dedicated (and compensated) writer.

What? Card-treasury is Mike, the dude with 100,000 Montgomery AU's.

He and others have talked about doing a running card museum column on FCB

I assumed that's what he was doing.

A "What If" segmeent would be nice....

Like what if the Pirates would have taken Bj Upton. I promise you he would have spent more time in the minors and would have stayed at shortshop. The Rays would have probably taken Zack Greinke or Prince Fielder.

Or the Twins were stupid enough to take Prior before Mauer.
