Although its not very likely, if you can hit some PSA 10's, you can make some money on that case.

Once again, the centering on those cards isnt the greatest but its not a terrible gamble.

I am hoping there may be a couple. There are some guys out there ripping these types of boxes and pulling some 10's of HOF and star players. I will see how it goes. I would like to at least pull some cards to sub like a McGriff or some Cubs players I collect.

I got it! I know what you should do!

There's 720 packs in the case and a complete set has 792 cards.

Make a near set using ONLY wax stained cards.

True, it will "probably"be completely worthless but could also be fun and anyway, how many people can say they have it?

Awesome idea!!
I have a metric ton of '81 Fleer. I was thinking of putting a set together of cards with gum on them.

I don't know, I'd say slight overpay at 45 cents for the case.

Haha, 1989 Topps I think was the first set I ever tried putting together. Either that or 1991 Donruss. I've since finished the 1991 Donruss (only took 15+ years), but I'm still a good ways away from the 1989 Topps. I just fill in cards when I get them from random repack boxes and such.

That would be hilarious.

It's so funny... go to COMCs and just look at all the cards from 1989 Topps. The most expensive card is like a PSA 9 Smoltz for ~$30

In all honesty, I'd try and do something creative with it... like the wax stain idea or gum idea or something like that. You could also do something like the project we're already doing on the board which is passing out packs for free and seeing who can get the most TTM autos... it's been fun.

I may actually pursue a signed set of 89 Topps. I already have 13 signed from the project we are working on. I will be sending out some more for sure.

I'm sure you're not alone. I thought I saw a thread on here about that (or another similar type set) actually being a project many are doing and that is why you see some random guys autograph go for stupid money because he might be dead or something and there was little time between the release and his death to get his auto. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Either way, I have a bunch of them available from the project we're doing ;)

I paid $9 for this. I had to fight off a couple other people though.

When I was looking I noticed a few commons and minor stars were selling for decent prices. There are probably a few going after registry sets on this or something.

There are several TTM guys that I have seen on YouTube working on the set. I am sure there are several more as well. If I do it I would most likely just go after the guys that still sign for free or real cheap.

For some reason I remember the Jeffries always being way miscut or O/C.

You may be right. That's a strong price though. It was sold by Probstein and his listings usually get a good bit of bids.

That's what I thought as well, since I'm Kingery's only collector. I know the '88 only has a population of 2 (and I own one), but I don't know how few of these there are.
