I need a new drug..... I mean product.

I really want a new product, something that is not all parallels and prospects, nor super expensive but still chrome like. Something that revolves around a diverse checklist and 'hits' are actually additional value and not the end all be all to the product it'self...


Here is what I want...

1 box = 24 packs = 12 cards per pack.

Each pack contains 11 base chrome-type cards and 1 refractor parallel /500
Randomly inserted in packs are Autos (both prospect and vet), insertion rate = 1/100 packs
Randomly inserted in packs are GU Cards (both prospect and vet), insertion rate = 1/100 packs

Auto checklist = 25 prospects, 25 young stars, 25 vet stars, 25 retired fan favorites.
GU checklist = 25 prospects, 25 young stars, 25 vet stars, 25 retired fan favorites.

I want a base set of 660 so each team is well represented.

This means 13,750 boxs, and 1375 10 box cases.

Base cards would have a print run of 5500 each (un-numbered)
Autograph cards would have a print run of /33 each
GU cards would have a print run of /33 each

With a reasonable cost of $50 - $60 a box.

I just want a quality chrome set that actually has a diverse set and limited in nature so it can actually have some value, base on up. Only one parallel/refractor chase set, and limited yet divers GU/AU inserts so that a 'hit' would actually mean something. I do not expect many to agree with me, and logisticly it may be a pipe dream, but this is what I want...

Yeah, this is why logisticly I think it may be almost impossible to do, however if Topps could find the room to fit such a product in it's bag of tricks, it would be stellar. Sure it may not make them a bunch of money, but it may bring some who otherwise do not break modern Topps/Bowman Products back in to the fold as well as give a bit back to the members of the hobby who still long for the days of great Topps sets but can appreciate modern technology. I just want a great baseball base set/product, and hits/parallels that actually matter without dominating the product.

Even in the mid-90's a pack of Chrome cost you $3 for 4 cards (and no autographs possible). $60 for 24 packs of 12 chrome cards with autographs included seems impossible.

I'd like to see a product, 650-700 base cards (all in chromium technology). No jerseys, no autos. You get 1 refractor and 1 die-cut insert card per box.

Unfortunately, that won't ever happen.
