Well im having a tough time on trying to decide if i should sell off any more of my vintage star cards to try to buy some of the harder to get rookies i want such as 63 Pete Rose, 67 Tom Seaver and 67 r. Carew ect. I really dont have a lot of money to just buy these cards so I was wondering if you guys think I should keep my older stuff like my 61 mantle, and 58 T. Williams, 57 Clemente ect. or sell to get rookie cards. I just know i will never be able to get the mantle, Williams, Clemente rookies unless i get lucky somehow, what do you guys think?

Collecting is a very personal thing. I have never really been crazy about the whole "rookie card" phenomena but many are and that's ok, it all comes down to what you really want to have in your collection.

Some of the cards you are thinking of selling are pretty special cards themselves and if you will regret getting rid of them, I suggest you hang on to them. On the other hand, if you love and really want to collect rookie cards then it makes sense to sell and purchase what you want.

Probably clear as mud isn't it?

Best of luck in whatever you decide, keep us posted.

Being on a limited budget I'd recommend keeping your stars like Mantle, Clemente, Williams etc because it's unlikely that you'll own their rookies. Enjoy!
