Great pull, congrats!
I too would like to see what it would get letting it run for 10 days starting @ .99
I bet you'd be surprised at the ending price. People at gonna lowball you on offers because they think the 20k BIN is insane, so they will be insane in the opposite direction.

I may end up doing that, not in a super rush to sell since I figure call up time may be just as good as any to sell it. Just seeing if a nice offer does come in

I love how on SCF, people were saying that it's a $2,000 card. Are they THAT out-of-touch over there.

Hehe I would sell and get a nice vintage HOF RC.

Not A nice vintage HOF RC. THE HOF RC.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1952-TOPPS-MICKEY-M ... 500wt_1182

It's not his RC.

::facepalm::

Yes, he has the 1951 Bowman card. I know. But there are two cards that immediately pop to mind when you mention baseball cards. One is a Honus Wagner and the other a Mickey Mantle. And neither of those two cards appear in friggin' 1951 Bowman.

OK, well you called the '52 his RC and I was just pointing out that it wasn't is all. No big deal. :benson:

1952 has long been considered Mantle's rookie card. Sorry. I know there is a 1951 Bowman card. I know. But if you polled 1,000,000 people 995,000 of them would say the 1952 was the RC. Just like the XRC debate, popular opinion wins.

I'm pretty sure if that many people said the '52 was the RC, than those are the people who shouldn't be talking about Mantle's RC. Anybody with one iota of common sense in the hobby knows the '52 is not his RC. Just because it sells for more, does not mean it's his RC. I'm hoping you understand why it carries as much value as it does.

Do me a favor and go over to Net54 and ask them. THEY know their vintage.

And in regards to popular opinion, the majority of the earth's population thought the earth was flat at one time.

I disagree with you on this. If you polled a million people, 995,000 would say 1951. This would be because collectors are somewhat of a rarity and most would have no idea. If you gave them the 2 options, they would more likly than not choose the earlier year.

However for those who do know cards, most would choose the topps over the bowman. I would consider them both rookies

However if it was my card, I think I might go after the 51. Not only could you likely buy the card strait up but in 10 years if stras doesn't make it you could say that you traded a bowman stas rookie for a bowman mantle rookie.

So my question is why would you consider the '52 a RC?
