Blowout is pretty close to his home. I'm not sure where he purchased from though.

I would hardly say busted

I'm not sure he said he pulled it from blow out, it might be an assumption based on the video on the news with the blow out banner.

One thing you can be sure of, Global is a good place to buy wax. I know many people with good pulls from there.

If I were the seller, I'd do this:

1. Pull the auction at the last minute, preventing Ebay and Paypal from collecting any fees

2. Contact the major news groups - Yahoo, ESPN, etc - who ran stories on the card, letting them know your intentions on selling the card through a major auction house

3. Sell through Beckett Select Auctions, REA, or another major auction house

From the auction....

Just wanted to Thank Chris at Blowoutcards for helping to spread the word for this auction. I've been buying from them for a while. Great people to work with.

He makes no mention that he bought this particular case from blow out, but after reading this, that is what one would assume.

$$$$$ = advertising.....I wonder what type of $$$$ or prodcut changed hands to get them added to the auction along with the video being at Blowout. If not, then why do it?

No way. By the time he got all that done, the price he would get would WAAAY down.

That's a risk, but if he keeps it on Ebay everyone knows what will happen.

He won't be able to stop the idiot thrill seeker bidders at the end of the auction, it'll close for some ridiculous amount like $65k, the buyer won't pay

...and Ebay won't do a damn thing to prevent it. He'll probably relist after the news hype dies down and get a fraction of what it's at now.

At least with auction houses, you have to have credentials to register to bid. I know with REA, I had to provide references from well known collectors, I had to provide bank acct and credit card numbers, I think they ran a credit check...and if I won an item and refused to pay, REA's lawyers would come after me.

Ebay is a joke. I could register a new name and open a paypal account today, bid $100k at the end of the auction, and completely screw the seller out of thousands of dollars, and Ebay wouldn't do a damn thing. If I can do it, so can the millions of idiots who read the news stories. It's happened before, it'll happen again. For the seller's sake I hope it doesn't...but I'm not holding my breath

ebay fees are nothing...Ebay will be getting $50 for FVF
paypal fees will be 3% or $510.00

the other places may get more like 10%-20% or more
Plus the headache of waiting another 7-10 days of auctions

I believe he has used the option that bidders have to be pre-approved.
Congrats to the seller by the way!

We would like to congratulate ebay member dunk_sz10 he pulled the 2010 Bowman Chrome Stephen Strasburg Superfractor from the case he purchased from us.

I thought he said he pulled it from Blow Out?

No I never said I got it from Blowout, the connection is because I am a member on their forums there and once I pulled it he said he would start a where would it end contest and have it in bi weekly specials once I posted an auction link to get some more views etc. If you check the Beckett story I had let Chris Olds know I pulled it from I case I pre ordered from Global sports cards. I did not really want to do press or interviews about this but my sister in law works at Fox 5 and the main reason I did that was to help her out at her job.

Normally I would say it's a very bad idea to end a auction on Saturday, but with a card like this it doesn't matter. Good luck!

I agree and I did not realize it was Memorial Day weekend either which works against me. But luckily he does pitch tomorrow and with all the extra press it got , the right bidders will be there at the end hopefully.

1:18 scale ones without a doubt, Or if ya eant a full size. A nice early 80's Mondial, 400i or late 70's 308. But a Ferrari is a Ferrari no matter what.
