I still can't believe Neftali is this cheap.

It's so cheap cuz he's not got 4 autos, thank you Donruss for ruining a perfectly good system!

I'd have to agree - even if the totals add up to less than a chrome auto - the perception of there being a lot around is there because of being in more than a couple of releases by one company.

Very well worded response, yeah that's what I was saying. If I have a choice between prime cuts, contenders, elite, and threads, how am I supposed to pick?

For me EEE has the most prospect history - albeit a short one - so I'm going with a product with a teeny bit more prospect recognition.

I recently moved my neftali elite for about 28, I've been wanting it back since. His prices are still very cheap, and I agree that elite is probably the way to go. Neftali seems like the type of guy to me that could come up in his debut and do something like cueto did, blowing away everyone, which is why neftali is so tempting.

I'm big on Prime Cuts. 1/4th the print run of EEE, from a product with a huge SRP, and sells for mostly the same price. Also only prime cuts products or inserts have him in a Rangers uniform.

Good point, a lot of people seem to like prime cuts

I think that can go both ways - prospectors who are late to the party might get the impression from his EEE that the card is his "first" even though they were all released in 08. Some will like the Rangers uni others will want the EEE which is more typical of Donruss' prospect releases - eg previous EEE big cards like the Wieters etc which have hobby recognition.

EEE with Wieters was just a year ago. Price and Print run I think are king. I'd actually rate EEE his lowest of his Donruss product cards unless he is in Contenders and it has a higher print run than EEE. Threads was a popular set as well and has 50% less than EEE. If EEE wasn't the most produced card of him all together it would help.

Print run is certainly a factor - but not something that plays as heavily into prices as maybe they should. Bowman Sterling Refractors don't outsell blue refractors of the same print run - despite Sterling's higher price point. The fact that they are stickers and autos are more easily obtained packwise keeps the lower print run card down. While not a great comparison for Donruss' products which all have stickers I think the print run factor is just not that a big deal.

It's absolutley crazy. I just saw the espn prospect list that had him as the fourth best prospect in baseball. That is very cheap for a top ten prospect in the game.

Too bad perception is ruining Donruss' print runs. If Bowman actually numbered the base autos people would be changing their minds. In the long run it will probably not matter. Once everyone is after a particular guy they will start to realize how few there actually are compared to Bowman.

Understandable, but they really are the exquisite version of his first year card in my eyes. Collectors don't seem to mind that Exquisite cards don't grade well.

And they are HIDEOUS looking. VERY UGLY.

I would MUCH rather have threads and Elite. Plus the Prime Cuts are beat to hell out of the pack....
