I thought that the Base Chrome Market was dead...

Are Base chromes a good investment?

honeslty depends on the player you look on ebay you are gonna pay 10-15 per utley, mauer and a few others. Overall though theres better cards to collect of each player so like others said i would stay away as well

Huh?

Neither Mauer nor Utley had base chrome non-auto rookies............did they?

The second year chrome autos of a guy didn't help. Right now you'd see base chromes of Heyward at $30 per if he didn't have a second year auto. Same with a lot of the 2007 draft guys.

Another thing that kills it is 3 Bowman products a year = watered down checklists.

Also, overproduction doesn't help the fate of the 2006-2009 Bowman base chrome

One fact remains....if a guy hits it huge anything of his will sell. Guys used to sell well in base chrome because they were rarer. Now that they aren't as rare you can't just be a good prospect to sell...you have to be great. Also the fact that these guys are overproduced in more sets than one doesn't help...I mean...do you really need a Hanson in 2007 and then a Hanson in every other product in 2009. While true prospectors want the first year card the casual collector who used to drop $$$ on his first year card...now they drop money on more of that players RC and get more bang for their buck in their opinion.

IF you think the base chrome market is dead, PM me. Ill buy every Castro, Font, Hudson, Matt Moore, Adrianza, Dom Brown and others you have....

Tim Lincecum 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Picks were a great investment for me. For those who couldnt afford the Bowman Chrome Auto this was their next option.

Base chromes aren't dead, the checklists have just been poor the last two draft sets for the base set. Lots of chromes still command nice prices and will continue for the Chapmans, Feliz's, etc.

IMHO one can't appreciate the parallels if one doesn't appreciate the base. Sorry if I always seem to repeat myself here.
