Tai,

Thanks for being a great member of this community and for your generosity. I'm downsizing my collection as well in preparation for marriage, though I am going to try to continue to pick up some Ryno cards from time to time. Here's to some good sale prices on those items you are moving and to that money helping you deal with whatever has occurred in your life.

Wow! I can't believe it's been seven months since I decided to walk away - well, not completely. I did sell off part of my collection - all my serial 23's, checklists, cameos, honorable mention cards, most of the Star company cards (regret this a little), variations, and a few rarer "unlisted" 90s cards/promos (regret this a little as well). I am holding onto the cards from his playing years. As much as I tried to, I can't let them go. Even managed to pick up a couple of 90s cards I had needed. I will probably never let them go, nor will I let go of the non-card items I've accumulated. Heck, I have ten IKEA Detolf shelves full of stuff that may be worthless to others but mean a lot to me.

It was never about the money. Heck, I willingly lost a lot of money selling off the 23s. It was about the time I put into the cards and not my family. Unfortunately, the family did have a fallout with my obsession partly to blame (though she never came out and said it directly). But I do have primary custody of my two girls, so my time is now dedicated to them.

I have picked up running (and I found out it's not a cheap hobby either) and use it as an escape at times.

I'll drop in occasionally to visit. I still look forward to seeing other player collections grow even if mine won't.

Glad to see you back and hopefully doing okay! Hope everything is working out for you and you are at a good place right now.

Taking care of yourself and family are the priority. This is indeed just a hobby. If it becomes primary, it is time to back off. I hope that you are able to find balance.

Its good to see you back on here, even if its just to visit. We all wish we could make the cards the priority at times, but family truly does come first. Glad to see you in a good place.

Glad you're back even if it's not to the extent you were when you left. Family issues suck. Hope all is as good as it can be.

Family always is > hobby. Glad you're still around, even on a limited basis.

Glad you are doing well. There is something about us as a community and as a hobby that makes your situation not uncommon -- lots of us get too into it, in various ways. Good that you can see what was happening clearly and make a decision to moderate... it can be hard sometimes! I mean, if we're calling alcoholism a disease, and gambling addiction a disease, and hoarding a disease/syndrome, then....?

Anyways all the best.
