You may recall that I posted earlier in the week about winning a dispute with an idiot buyer (that thread is here, make sure the block the buyer: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=147995&hilit=dispute+chances%3A+I+WIN!!!+Block+ebayer+m)

So I'm thrilled, ebay sends me an E-mail saying the following:

We decided not to issue the buyer a refund. You don't need to do anything else for this case. The hold on this PayPal transaction has been removed. This case is closed.

Decision:
This case has been decided in your favor. The hold on this PayPal transaction has been removed.

Then I log onto paypal this morning and see the following:

Original Transaction
Date Type Status Details Gross Fee Net
Sep 27, 2011 Payment From ********* McGee Refunded by eBay Details $82.90 USD -$2.70 USD $80.20 USD

Related Transactions
Date Type Status Details Gross Fee Net
Oct 13, 2011 The funds that were placed on temporary hold are now available for use Removed Details -$82.90 USD $0.00 USD -$82.90 USD
Oct 18, 2011 Refund by eBay To ********* McGee Completed ... $82.90 USD $0.00 USD $82.90 USD

I WIN the dispute so paypal REFUNDS THE BUYER HIS MONEY?!?! This has to be a mistake, right? I've already E-mail paypal anticipating that they'll correct the situation, so help me god if winning a dispute means being with cards or money...

Has this happened to anyone else?

I definitely wouldn't be wasting my time with emails in this situation.

Call and state your case!

I would but I'm at work and would have to wait on that until later so I wanted to get the ball rolling as soon as possible (I can play around on the internet at work but it's tough to step away for what could be a while and make a call).

Well it looks like Ebay refunded him.

Or did they actually take the money out of your account?

Subject:

You have sent $82.90 USD to ********* McGee with PayPal
Description:
eBay decided in favor of the buyer in a dispute filed with the eBay Resolution Center. Because you didn't have enough money in your account to cover the refund, eBay issued the refund on your behalf. Please reimburse eBay now for the refund.

Obviously they DIDN'T decide in favor of the buyer per the E-mail I received and the words I'm looking at on the ebay page! What's more is that I had plenty of money in my account to cover the refund, this whole operation is a huge cluster f

Sorry I didnt see where it said Ebay decided in the buyers favor.

That is complete BS though.
So you do everything right and Paypal finds in your favor.
But then ebay gives you a big FU and says despite that, we are giving the money back to the buyer, not forcing him to return any product, and we expect you to reimburse us!

The opposite actually, I do everything right and EBAY finds in my favor, but then PAYPAL gives me the big FU by showing that ebay ruled AGAINST me and gives money back to the buyer!

Again, I can only hope that this is a mistake and they realize they butchered this.

When I won my one and only dispute ( being the seller) eBay sent me the same message, then paypal sent me one stating they refunded then buyer on it. But no money was removed from my account and the hold was lifted from the money, but it never left my account. For me it seems I keep my money but they gave him back his money too.

Not sure why this happened to you.

PayPal buyer protection????

Maybe PayPal eats the money and the seller is not charged?
