It's too bad this is more of a Baseball site than anything. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love this site during baseball season, but there just isn't enough traffic come Football/Basketball season. I really wish we could find some way to generate more people to this site.

I know, why don't you ask Santa this Christmas for this. :D

I kid I wonder why it is not more populated, but hey football is a close second to the low
volume basketball has. :D

In my area Basketball card sales have eroded to almost nil. It's a shame, I remember when Shaq came out hoops cards were amazing sellers. I think the Panini thing is really hurting the hobby too.

NBA: If it's not broken why fix it?

I think the reason this is a baseball heavy board is that is where most of the members were from on beckett. Just my opinion. Basketball is my favorite sport and I too wish the basketball board was busier. We could always recruit from other boards, that was how I landed here.

I wrote this a while back - but even on Beckett the b-ball posts were far less than the other sports. Plus B-ball didn't have any of the cool stuff that the other areas had. At one point I actually did try a Team Collector Group and trying to do a secret santa - and there were a few great people involved, but overall it was a nightmare. I swear there were more scammer's, and immature kids (though some may have been adults) then any other area.

Another thing I noticed back on beckett - that probably contributed to those problems was that more so then any other sport - the majority of the people only cared about or wanted the "big hit". There were very few set collector's, team collector's. or anything that resembled a "hobby".

That being said - I'd also love to see more people over here, hopefully we can get some quality.....but it may not be a large pool to take from.

I disagree with Panini hurting the hobby. Their products have been quality and basketball sales have actually increased a bit in the shop in which I work. I'm loving Panini so far.

You hit on something here and I think the Bottom line is Basketball does not have the History or strong of history as baseball in all aspects of the sport. Meaning The sport itself and card collecting. That doesnt mean that it cannot build. I just believe that if we stick it out even if its for a few years it will eventually pick up. I sure havent given up yet :) .

I'd like to see some more traffic here as well...although I tend to stay toward the vintage.

On a positive note. Devin Harris is back in the starting lineup tonight since the 1st game of the year (that they lost at the buzzer). Maybe he can stop the Nets from having the worst start in the NBA history.

Yea man I honestly did not think they would be this Bad. Apperantly Vince Carter really made a big difference (Im sure this is more to it than that).

I'm interested in how they do tonight with Harris back in the lineup. They barely lost their first game with Harris starting. He hasn't started in 14 games since then. Now he's back. Hopefully he can right the ship.

Yea He is the biggest Factor. They played him the last game a bit but him minutes were limited and the sad part is that by the time he gets back to 90-100% they will probably have the record :| . Let hope now. Game just started lets see what happens.

I've been watching a lot of 80's-90's NBA youtube vids, as well as a few modern day blooper vids. I'm trying to get myself back into liking the NBA again, but the Jordan era spoiled me. It just isn't the same.

Harris shot was off last night ,but he was getting to the line. He ended up with 25 points. I still think Harris can turn them around. Hopefully they can pickup one of these nice free agents over the offseason.

Since Reggie retired, basketball hasn't interested me at all. The brawl hurt my love for the game. Especially since it was the thugs on my team. It really pushed me back into baseball and football. I used to love it, but not so much anymore. :(
