I wonder how many people have sold cards for......

Have you ever sold cards deliberately to use the money for?

Odds are, no one on this board has sold cards to pay for a ******.

meh you're probably right, but ya never know. What about drugs and alcohol? Do you think people are being honest about that?

How many of us have prostituted ourselves for card money?

Not me, I only did it to get my friend Chef out of trouble with a record company before.

I've had the Chef song about Kathie Lee stuck in my head since I pulled her autographed card this weekend

Your not paying for the sex. your paying for them to leave afterwards without any cuddling and explaining what your thinking about.

You have a point there but I have to admit I was kind of amazed that baseball cards would be sold for them. Not that its completely unbelievable but its just not something I expected.I guess anything that is a hot commodity can be sold for them though. My cousin used to work at Gamestop and he was telling me that people would come in all the time with brand new movies and boxed dvd collections that usually retail for quite a bit of money and try to sell them. And Gamestop wouldn't give hardly anything for them but always turned around and sold them for a large chunk themselves. My cousin said he figures they may have been stolen and that they may have been doing it for drugs as they certainly looked cracked out of their mind.I asked him how he knew and he told me.."Why would anybody buy a movie or a box set for full retail and then not even open it and turn around and sell it for a very small fraction of what they paid?". Then he reasoned that even if they were stolen(which they could never prove even after calling around) nobody is going to put their ass on the line for a few bucks liek that.He said working there, he actually made more money on minimum wage than any of these people selling the dvd's did.So he said if they are just ordinary thieves...they weren't very sharp at all but he figures they needed the money very badly and you can kind of connect the dots from there.

^ On a related note, I've traded "drugs" for cards in my high school days. Only twice that I can remember.

I have only sold cards to offset a large card purchase (or car repairs/tires). I save money like a SOB.
