Wow- nice pull!
It's a 2005 Topps Rookie Cup Reprints Chrome Refractor #/15
No idea on the value but I'd guess you could really get a few of those hard core Ichiro collectors going as these cards are not only rare but many never seemed to surface because that RC cup product did not seem to be heavily broken.

I dont have anything to add.

Just one question for a newbie, why does this card say "2002 Topps" on front and the back has a 2001 Copyright and stats... if its from a 2005 pack/box??

If you were to sell it, would you describe it as a 2005 or a 2002? seems confusing to someone not an expert on these.

Nice score, Im sure there are many collectors in Japan who would pay good for it...

He is the most famous (well known) person in the History of Japan, so they say. and Japan sure has alot of people. :)

If I remember correctly, I pulled an Andruw Jones either last year or the year before when busting this product and sold it for a nice chunk of change. This one however, will go for an insane amount I am sure. Great pull!

Card was issued in 2005
Reprint of a 2002 card
The original card was printed in late 2001 (as all Topps base sets are)

Sweet. I was actually able to teach you something for a change.

List it as a 2005 card. That's what it is

Nailed it. For fkw, and anybody else still confused, the theme of Rookie Cup was focusing on players second year card--the year a player's card had the Topps Rookie Cup award on it. It is not meant to be a Rookie card reprint set.

Here's an interesting one from the set. The first card is the 2005 Topps Rookie Cup Reprint. The second card is the one it is a "reprint" of, his 2006 base Topps card (auto is IP).

if it helps, a Pujols from the same set, same insert, but a 1/1 recently sold for around $200-250 BIN. I'd let it run at 99c for about 10 days and you'll see this card go up pretty high
