Even with his late start in the majors Ichiro has hit his 2400 MLB hit and still 37. He has a great chance of hitting 3,000 by 41 or so. Pretty amazing.

Funny, I recall people saying he'd never last long enough to hit 3,000 in the MLB. I honestly believe if he had started his career here, he would have eclipsed even Rose.

I hope he does it, he'll be a hofer either way. Top 25 hitters of all time for sure

On a side note, gracecollector, some link you have keeps coming up flagged on my antimalware/spyware program. Just giving you a heads up in case you need to fix something, or check the permissions.

Skills decline rapidly at this age. He'll need 4 full seasons at least for 600.

This is true in most cases but Pete Rose is a perfect example of a very well conditioned athlete that produced well past the time most players begin to see their skills diminish. Ichiro will be another one of those players.

ICHIRO is a once in a lifetime player..

3700 professional hits already...

Would have challenged Rose potentially had he started here...

Because he isn't Italian or Latino.

How many hits does he have between MLB and Japan?
