What I do know about this trophy is it was part of a program Topps offered during series 1 in 2008. Other than that i am clueless on it. I called Topps on asking about more information and they said the above information that I had typed and that they made 1 of each player from the promotion.

I got mine direct from Topps cashing in my reward points from eTopps at the beginning of the year. Guess it was a leftover that didn't get claimed. (also they had a pujols, jeter, and griffey jr in different weeks) Other that that no more were available.

I haven't ever seen them on ebay... or even mentioned on the boards. So I am asking if anybody on here has another player trophy or if they have any other information about these.

The base is made of wood (walnut?) has a name plate with his full name and team. Measure 7"x8". The bowl is either aluminum or silver since a magnet doesn't stick. The bowl itself has "Topps 50th Anniversary All-Rookie Team"

I have another scan in my bucket listed under memorabilia if you wanted to see.

Wow that's a cool piece. No info on it unfortunately. Also, the bowl could be stainless steel. Magnets won't stick to austenitic stainless but it will stick to ferritic stainless. Just FYI.

First thing you should do is take off all your clothes and stand about 5 feet from the cup and snap a picture.

Cool piece to have.. I have never seen or heard about these at all..

The Ichiro Super Collector lives in the Seattle area that might pay a few bucks for it..

Also contact Beckett to see if they have any info on these.. I'm surprised that someone at Topps doesn't know more.. they ordered the trophy..

Good luck,

I think these were redemptions in 2008 Topps for their 50th Anniversary of the All-Star Rookie Award. I've never seen them but I'm assuming they made one for everyone who was an All-Star Rookie.

He can be contacted through his website (if this is the dude you are talking about). I emailed him here and sold him my Ichiro prototype.

The guy I was thinking about lives in Bellevue, WA and was in the Beckett Magazine as being an Ichiro Super Collector.. His name is Bruce Collins..

I'm still trying to find out something more..
