I'd draft Robert Griffin ahead of Andrew Luck

I'm sick and tired of the media's obsession with Andrew Luck. Is he an awesome quarterback? Yes. Is he the second coming of Peyton Manning? I have no idea, and neither do you or anyone else

I'd draft RG3 over Luck. He's basically a Michael Vick clone, if Vick wasn't a thug and didn't turn the ball over every other play. Extremely accurate on deep throws, he always looks to pass first, he's very good at reading defenses, and he rarely makes stupid mistakes. His throwing motion is already NFL-level quick, he has the arm strength, and he can run and create plays when they break down, and he's smart

No one will agree with me, but I'd take him over Luck. I'd also take Matt Barkley over Luck. Nothing against Andrew, I just don't think he's the clear-cut best qb prospect

thanked...I like Griffin too....Luck looked shaky against a mediocre (at best) USC secondary....and was less successful against arguably the best defense in the Pac, Oregon...Luck 27-41 256yards 65.9% 3TD's 2INT's 132.7 Passer Rating Barkley 26-34 323yards 76.5% 4TD's 1INT 189.2 Passer Rating...Luck was at home and Barkley went into Eugene...and USC hasn't won a game in the state of Oregon since '05.

I'd definitely take Griffin over Luck...and call me a homer...but I'd take Barkley over Luck too....but my hopes are that Luck goes before Barkley and Barkley decides to stay 1 more year!!! :D

also forgot about landry jones

we could have a qb heavy draft if everyone comes out

That's the thing - I personally don't think Luck will declare. He was the clear-cut #1 last year and returned to win a championship. What's to say he won't do the same thing again?

And Barkley...USC is a preseason top 3 (I'd vote them #1 if I had a vote) if he returns. They'll be bowl-eligible. USC would be scary good if he came back

I think USC will start high...but they still don't have depth on defense and get tired with all of these quick scores on deep bombs....even though they're bowl eligible...they still have 10 less scholarships to give out per year for the next couple of years...hard to get a good defensive rotation without those scholarships...I hate the NCAA. Where the hell is Ohio State's sanctions?

Hard to be NFL ready in the Big XII, because the defenses he faces every week are not very good. Luck is better and deserves to be number one, but with many other first round QB's, I don't see anyone trading tons of picks to the Colts for him.

I don't like Landry Jones at all.

He screams "System QB" to me and they hardly ever make a good transition to playing on Sundays...

Everything I've seen around here is that Luck has already declared.

What a stupid response.

Do you consider Oklahoma a good defense? Because I do. RG3 torched them for 479 yards and 4 touchdowns. Oh, and another 72 yards on the ground.

If you're going to use the "Big 12 defenses are weak" argument against Griffin, I'll use the "PAC 12 defenses are weak" argument against Luck.

You think Luck is better? Based on what, media hype? Because stats sure as hell aren't better than Griffin's

RG3
72.6 completion pct
3678 yards
34 tds
5 ints
191.1 passer rating
612 rush yards
7 tds

LUCK
70% completion pct
3170 yards
35 tds
9 ints
167.5 passer rating
153 rush yards
2 tds

Andrew Luck beats Griffin in touchdowns. Griffin beats Luck in the 13 other relevant statistical categories. And he's doing it on an inferior team.

Better, my ass

if everyone comes out 2012 topps chrome should be a great product

I hope you're right Miggy, but knowing Topps as we do, since this years' product was so good and successful they'll make WAY too much of it next year and kill the product and its value... :(

Even if you think Griffin is going to be a better player in the NFL than Luck it's foolish to say that you'd draft him ahead of Luck. Luck's value is astronomically higher than Griffin's to just about everybody else, so you could easily draft luck and trade him for Griffin and multiple picks or other value.

Good point. I didn't take into account Luck's value as a commodity (as trade bait or in terms of marketability)

I don't think college stats are a great way to evaluate QB's either. Both put up great numbers, but they pale in comparison against Case Keenum's. Much of Luck's hype come from his tools. I take college football stats much like I do high school or college baseball stats, valuable to a limited extent. Tools + abilities are more important than performance.

your probably right. at least this years topps chrome has been imo the product of the year (football wise) and way better than the crap panini has put out like certicrap, threads, and rookies and stars

Oklahoma's D is ranked 52nd...Luck struggled against Oregon (61st)...and USC who isn't even in the Top 100.

If Robert Griffin signs this via ttm, I might cry like a little girl at a Justin Bieber concert. I think he's my favorite non-Miami player to watch.

Topps Chrome has been a great value since 2009, and IMO Topps best product across all brands and sports.

I hope they keep the content the same, don't have too many different players for autos and keep the inserts cool and innovative. The crystals this year were great additions to the set.

I wish they would do a red ref auto #d to 5 but they have the golds #'d to 10.
