HOME PLATE UMPIRE TOM HALLION LEFT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SIXTH AFTER GETTING HIT IN THE CHEST BY A PITCH. HE RE-ENTERED THE GAME AT THIRD BASE. BRIAN O'NORA MOVED FROM FIRST TO HOME PLATE UMPIRE. THE GAME WAS DELAYED FOR 17 MINUTES.

HOME PLATE UMPIRE JERRY CRAWFORD LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE THIRD INNING AFTER HE WAS HIT BY A FOUL BALL IN HIS FACE MASK. HE WAS REPLACED BY SECOND BASE UMPIRE TOM HALLION.

I didn't see the first incident, but the second was a straight fastball that Zaun completely whiffed on. It went right through, and looked like it hit the ump right above the belly button. He just collapsed, and was down for a little while. It looked like he was really badly winded.

Just be glad you weren't watching the Rays broadcast. I love the team, but can not stand our announcers. Every bad call they go on and on for three innings. They were still talking about the calls JP was or was not getting in the post game show.

Talk radio down here is all about how great Howell is, forgetting I guess the fact that he is now second in the majors to Lidge in the Blown Save category...
