I bought a 97 sp rc buyback a year ago for $800 and got an offer of $900 here for it. Buyer disappeared and I waited holding it for him. Couple months later the biogenesis situation broke. When I sold my collection in the spring it got around $250...

It'll most likely decrease. McGwire cards weren't really affected at all from the PED witch hunt but that is because of the limited amount of McGwire cards that exist and quite honestly the age of all the collectors. Most of us are 30-60 and value the positive memories of watching the guy play. PED or not, it's very nostalgic.

With Arod though, he has more of an opportunity to dive in value by sheer volume of cards that exist (spreads the concentration of collections out) and the wider age group of people willing to abandon and move onto another superstar. I have a feeling the combination will not kill his value but will hurt it plenty.

Probably won't change much, his career's done regardless.

Braun chrome autos are going to be a great buy this off season though.

After the Arod fiasco I'm not sure how many will trust that Braun will not be caught again down the line. I know for me it would be hard to come up with a low enough price point that I could justify the risk although maybe that's just me and I took a bath on Arod stuff that I bought "cheap" after I assumed he cleaned up with the first announcement.
