It appears you are a Padres fan, so be happy he stopped and signed (or scribbled) for you.
No offense, but if I were player, I would not sign on the road unless the person was wearing my teams apparel.

Dude...if you go to an astros game you'd better be trying to get the visiting team because the astros(home team) hardly sign at all. That is why I have so many autos. If I go to a game I never get the astros to sign because a lot of times they won't.The visiting team always will and does.I have never walked away from a game where we didn't get at least 3 autos from the visiting team(but in most cases more).

Is this a new thing? When I went to Houston back in 1998, I got like 10 signatures, including Moises Alou, Billy Wagner, Jeff Bagwell, and countless others. What's up with the Astros lately? Just not as fan-friendly?

Maybe next time he will paint you a picture cause you deserve one for standing there and doing all that hard work.

Anthony, I wouldn't take it personally. Gorzo has a very sloppy autograph, but just how sloppy it is does depend on the situation. I got him TTM a few times during his career, and the autos were generally pretty neat, though all you could really make out was T___G__. At Piratefest last year, Tom took his time and gave me a few pretty nice signatures while I was talking with him and his wife, who was sitting next to him. However, most people were getting autographs similar to what you got. I'm guessing it just depends on how much time he has and how long he's been signing for.

I guess it depends on just how lucky you are but lets just say after several failed attempts...I'll stick with the visiting side.

Oh, I guess it's just luck. The day I went was a school-day in Mid-May at the old Astrodome. Maybe fewer of us were demanding, so that's why we got that many autos. But meeting with so many Astros and getting autos for free had a lasting impression on me. I even had good experiences when I'd go to Arizona to watch a 'Stros game or two. It's easier to root for a team when you've had positive experiences with the players.

For the last few years the only guys that have been good about signing at the stadium were people like Pence and Loretta and Bruntlett and Ensberg.Adam Everrett was pretty good about it as well as Lidge. But from what I saw and heard from others...none of the marquee guys signed much.Lee, Berkman, Bags, Biggio, Roy, Clemens, Pettite and some of the others were pretty hard to get.

Seeing as how I didn't really get into it until about 2006...I can't vouch for all those guys because I didn't have a chance to ask all of them for autos but I have heard they were pretty bad about not signing. And the guys who are here now...its just the same.
