Hey guys,

I have been pondering for awhile now what I would try and do if I was Sandy Alderson as the GM of the Mets. The Mets have a long way to go, but I have put together a roster and a few transactions I think the Mets should try and do.

Let me know what you guys think. All comments are welcome. Don't get on me too much !!! :)!:)!:)!

You get Halladay for 1 year for $5M while paying Johnson more than twice as much? I think you should also trade Lucas Duda and Ike Davis for Mike Trout.

no to granderson, would rather sign chris b young and hope he rebounds to the player he was in 09-10. Halladay is finished, his arm looks dead. Josh Johnson would be a great signing but he's told the padres that they're his first choice. Ruben Tejada cannot and will not be the shortstop next year, he's a terrible player with an even worse work ethic

I did a good amount of research about what GM's and agents around the league believe that these players will end up signing for. Halladay is coming off a season where he was hurt and in rough shape, thats why he is so cheap. Many GM's think Johnson can rebound fairly easily, especially going back to the NL.

The staff looks fine, but with two guys who will be hurt all year, along with a lineup that still sucks.

I think the most important thing is that the Mets put so much pressure on their young players/prospects to produce this past year. Its extremely important to me at least for the Mets to sign some solid veterans who can take pressure off these young players, which in turn will hopefully help these young players further develop. There was too much pressure last year on D'Arnaud, Lagares, Duda, Flores, Nieuwenhuis etc. Thats why acquiring too solid veterans like Granderson and Encarnacion will help ease the stress on these players, and protect david wright.

I wouldn't necessarily question Tejada's work ethic. He was hurt a lot last year, and its important to remember that he batted in the .280's the previous 2 seasons. I don't necessarily think he's the long term answer at SS, but temporarily I think he's not the worst option. Considering that again, as I said early that Tejada had enormous pressure on him to produce because of the lack of bats in the Mets lineup.
