i was thinking more about this and one game that always stood out for me was Harvey Haddix's Imperfect Game. I first read about it in a book during childhood and it included a stark black and white picture of Adcock rounding the bases with Haddix walking off. Something so sad about it. Going to that game knowing what would happen would be such exquisite bittersweet pain.
