Who would it be?

For instance, Olbermann, Ted Taylor, Wossa, Phil Hughes, Jim Beckett, Berger, etc.

Just make sure they are known in some way as a "famous" colllector/dealer so yes, that could also include mr. mint.

And if youd like to spice it up, add in deceased names like Halper, etc.

Mr. Mint...

Oh wait, that would be a waste of time, since his "knowledge" can't be shared and my collection is worthless...

May I ask, how is Phil Hughes a Hobby Icon???

I would talk to Pat Neshek myself..

Well I wouldnt say Hughes is a Hobby icon, just "famous" in that he was on the old BMB posting his collection and telling us "behind the scenes" stuff.

Like when he told us about his 2004 BCDP red refractor auto of himself, or that everyone got to wear two jerseys in the 2006 Futures game (one to keep, the other cut up by Topps). Or when he posted pics of all the 2007 UD Black autos he was in the process of sighning and that he also prospected Hank Conger.

This was all after he was called a fake, an impersonator, by oh so many on the boards at that time. So much so that he actually had to post a pic of himself and when that didnt please all, he posed for another pic holding an index card (or something) with his SN on it.

I figured you'd tell the story behind the Red Ref Auto, how he asked Topps for the replacement, they gave it to him, and then he sold it to a board member. Wasn't aware he prospected Conger.

Does anyone outside of this board even know who Wossa is?

Nope. For the same reason very few people on here know who Davallilo is

I wasnt totally sure the exact story of the red refractor auto.

I recently heard, maybe from this board or could be from another dealer, that the red ref is now in a showcase in some card store (in Fl. maybe?).

Mr. Mint! Cause if I could pull off one of his deals...I'd use the money to continually buy stuff for PC! Only sell what I had to.
