Bobbleheads I have close to 100 of them already.

And probably gamble more. I got into casino poker and blackjack and as soon as I started to collect cards again I haven't played but once every two three months where I used to play once a week.

Then there is always booze I guess

and then one or two of these. Mine would have 4-wheel tires on the back though. These Craftsman's make for good off-roaders, but I would want a late-'90s model Murray.

This last weekend I went to a demolition derby and they had a lawnmower heat where 4 guys drove those. It was easily one of the dumbest things I have ever witnessed.

Haha, nice! I've seen videos of those. They are pretty dumb. People do the oddest things with their lawnmowers.

The post was a joke though. I would consider putting a little money down for a truck like that, but that's about it.

Besides a truck, I would probably further my non-sport autograph collection.

I think I would just save up money to go to more games. As is I'm content to not go to many games because I've spent $50 by the time I walk in the ballpark and that's if I buy a crappy ticket.

Just looking at the dollars, I spend far more on cards, but I think I've placed over 200 orders on Amazon and probably bought at least another 50 books in the local bookstore over the last couple of years and they offer far
more value to me than any card.

I'm with you guys, I never thought of myself as much of a leisure reader until lately; but as I've matured, I've grown away from video games and toward books. I'm big on leadership and personal development stuff, as that's directly related to my profession. That said, I do most of my reading on the kindle app on my ipad....guess I can't get away from technology entirely . It's extremely convenient to be able to finish one book of a series and move onto the next after a few clicks and a quick $9.99 charge to the credit card though.

I miss my '83 but not nearly so much as I miss my 4.3L '88. That thing was fast and just a pleasure to drive. For shame.

Without the cards I'd probably put more into niche video gaming stuff that I already have. Neo Geo, TurboGrafx/PC Engine, FM Towns Marty, etc. Already have spent too much on that crap too. Just the addictive personality, always needs an outlet.

Though without the collectibles, I'd have to go for one of these:

Though I'm lovin' klute's Chevelle. Just something to rattle the windows.

probably put the money toward a BASS boat fund.. I used to spend it on my Stang until the car got totalled a couple years ago. the only other hobby besides my PC is fishing so more gear and a boat would be the next place to spend hobby funds. More family vacations would also be another place to put funds

Books, books, and, of course, books.
Winner! I'm a collector at heart, and that extends to books.

I probably go to our local library book store and various local thrift stores at least once a week, and sometimes I troll yard sales on Saturday. I love to read (I don't go anywhere without a book) and have since I was a yute in NW Oregon. I have a decent book collection of my favorite authors, most in hardcover - 1st edition/1st printing.

I have a monthly budget for wax that I buy $150 a month - I buy singles for my collection using money from other cards that I buy to resell.

As of late, I have been working my way out of this hobby and more into my other hobby. I spend more money now on exotic woods, bone, horn, micarta, steel, grinder, belt sander, buffer, table saw, bandsaw, lathe, router, and various straight razors.

I just find more satifaction with making and restoring my straight razors than I do hoarding tons of commons and crap cards that I cannot give away. Sure a nice hit is satisfying, but I rather find and restore a 100+ year old Wade & Butcher, make a matching brush and bowl to go with it.

That one is a 4.3L '94 S10 Tahoe. It's easily the greatest vehicle I've ever driven. I had a lot of people poke fun at it, but I never took it seriously because I never got stuck in snow drifts while everyone else did, and for an SUV, I've hauled so many branches and scrap metal with it.

I don't really spend any money on cards now because I'm too busy spending it on other stuff or have no money to spend. But hypothetically, if I had money to spend on cards and decided to spend it on other stuff it would probably be:

- Video games
- Stock certificates
- Rare first edition books
- Civil War tokens

Aside from cards, I also collect watches. So, any money not spent on cards would probably end up on my wrist.

My wife and I do the same (except we don't do the yard/garage sale thing). I make a point of reading at least two hours a day. We are up to 14 bookcases in the house now. I collect my favorite authors, too, and, when I can afford them, I go for First Editions.

I would add books to my list, but with law school I have no time for leisure reading anymore. Which is why I still have like 15 books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I do love books though.

I can't say for sure, but a library full of first editions and signed books might be my answer.
