(as in gradeable to 9.5 grade or better) but the auto looks like it will be a "9" (the auto runs off the sticker), would you still grade it or keep it raw?

To me, autograph grades are fairly silly, I'm more concerned with whether or not it detracts from the card.

We've seen countless faded BGS slabbed card with a 10 for an autograph...and frankly for me it just doesn't matter. It's just another way for BGS to grab $5. It's a better sales/marketing ploy than anything else.

So I'd slab it.

We talking $100+ Card Or What?

$50-$80.

Well if those are raw prices, and you know for sure its a gem or better. I think you should send it, think about it this way. Will you make more than it cost to grade even if its a 9.5 with a 9 auto? Maybe you might get lucky and get a 10 auto. You wanna post a scan so we can see the auto, because I sent in a card like your describing and it came back with a 10 auto...

I'd go ahead and grade it anyway. Of course the 9 auto would detract from the card but I think the 9.5 still brings a big enough premium (depending on card) that it's still worth it.

Most people I know only really care about the actual condition and appeal of the card, then look to the grade, then look to the auto. I'd say it matters but only slightly. As long as the auto is not horrible, a 9 or 10 will not matter all that much...

Personally, though.... If I knew for sure the auto was sloppy, I'd probablly dump the card.
