[quote="Brett Keith":350n9x74]How are people saying none? The question was if you HAD TO invest in one, not "Would you invest in any of these guys?". :)

I chose Price, but I might have gone with Weiters if I had thought about it more, because he's a hitter, and because of his position he could be an All-Star every year.

My choice would be Weiters or Heyward.

Reasoning: Play in small market teams are will have very little pressure on them to perform and will be given every opportunity.

I think Price will experience growing pains. Red Sox, Yanks, Blue Jays, White Sox, Angels, Texas, etc. His ERA will take a pounding. He is in the spotlight now. All eyes are on him. So is the pressure "do what you did last year!".....can he?

Price has more pressure than the others...for now. He also plays in a small market though, but has a good team around him, including what might be the best rotation in baseball. So that will take a lot of pressure of him simply because he won't be counted on to carry the team. Weiters just won MiLPOY and is seen as the head of a coming youth movement in Baltimore, and as the savior of a franchise. Heyward will be near the top of nearly ever prospect list heading into 2009, will be on every watchlist for MiLPOY, and Atlanta isn't a small market and has the pressure of a recent legacy of developing talent and winning. Heyward will probably be rushed up and will be playing in his home state.

Alex Gordon anyone? ;)

O's are keeping Wieters in AAA for at least a few weeks. Big difference between Gordon and Wieters. Wieters has far superior knowledge of the strikezone compared to Gordon at the times in AA. Weiters drew more walks than K's while Gordon nearly whiffed a game in AA. Gordon, underachiever, maybe another Carlos Pena breakout somewhere. Wieters, Teixeria at Catcher.[/quote:350n9x74]

I said that with some sarcasm, I don't think Wieters will be Gordon, and I don't think Gordon will be a bust either.

I was just noting the similarity to the bolded part.

I'd go Lars for the biggest spike. He should settle back to around what he sells for now long term, but short term out of those he will have the biggest jump at debut. His current prices are around where I expect him to be in long term just due to the prices you see today on Youk Chrome auto rookies.
