I don't agree with all the Strasburg votes. People are ver skeptical about TJ pitchers when they first come back, and he probably won't come near the hyped up expectations for a while, and maybe never.

As for Walker hitting $50, I wasn't saying it's a sure thing, but does anyone remember when you could pick up a Kershaw sterling auto for $25, and then the next spring there was a bunch of hype and his stuff skyrocketed? I was going to pile up a bunch of his stuff, but at $25 I thought the ceiling was too low. Even Bumgarner went up over $30 no problem for a while. Walker plays for a team with a very large fanbase that doesn't mind spending on their favorite new young players. It's not the same as Oakland or Toronto. I'd put Mariners fans up there with Braves fans when it comes to buying cards.

Goldschmidt and walker would both be awful investments at their current prices.

All it will take is a 14 strikeout performance his first game back, and his prices will at least double overnight, and you may see his chrome base rookies go from $1 to $10.

And the odds of that happening are......?

I'd much rather buy in with a player that just has to keep doing what they've been doing for 2 more months and then let the hype build til spiring.

I'm sure plenty of fans realise Strasburg may never be the same pitcher he once was (see Liriano ).
