I'm beginning to think I got dupped.

I own card #04/10 in the scans below. I bought the card within 6 months of the product release back in 2006. At the time, I had seen one of the other cards, that was only signed by Grace. Just assumed it was a card that slipped through unautographed by Hernandez. But over the years, every other version I've seen has only been autographed by Grace. As you can see, serial numbers #1, #2, #3 and #6 are that way (two of them are on eBay right now, that's what made me think about this).

So now I'm thinking my card has a fake Hernandez on it. Keith has a very neat, clean, consistent signature. I just thought at the time that with a blunt sharpie and not a lot of room to sign in, this was a messy Hernandez signature. But now I have lots of doubt. Why would one card in the middle of a run be signed when the others aren't? I've got no logical explanation. But nor do I know why Hernandez didn't sign the others. And why fake a Hernandez auto, it's not like this card cost me a whole lot?

Any Hernandez collectors want to give an opinion? Think someone just "added" their version of a Hernandez auto? Any possibility this is a legit Hernandez auto? Interested to hear any opinions. Think I'll just pick up one of the Grace-only auto'd cards to have too.

That does look suspicious. And I don't know Hernandez' auto very well, but I think you're right--all the versions I've seen look a lot neater than the one on that card. Have you decided to pick up another copy of the card, just in case?

On a side note, I got Grace to sign a RC for me on Tuesday after the Diamondbacks/Padres game. A nice addition to my autographed RC PC.

The dual Clark/Mattingly I have just doesn't look great... small area to sign and the sharpies must have been dulling.
