another neutral tonight from someone who got a jersey card damaged thru the mail.
No contact, just a neutral with a nasty comment. that makes 4 neutrals and 2 negs
in the last month or so, all from things i had nothing to do with. Is everyone just going insane?
Are people's problems just making them angrier and quick to snap?
how do you get an 8 dollar card damaged and not at least contact the seller and ask
if there is something i can do? people must actually truly want to leave those bad marks.
or they are all just #@*&^(%$ idiots.

Wow, that's just crappy. An eight dollar card too. Wow.

Please don't give up. The hobby needs more people like you.

I have to agree with aminors. It really stinks, but giving up means there's one less classy user to deal with. Hang in there. Your reputation will override a couple of neg's or neutrals.

I feel that way all the time-----until Sleazbay comes up with a fair rating system---good sellers have no chance.

Sorry to hear it man. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. Keep fighting the good fight though.

Be very very very careful.

I dropped a negative on a guy for being a compete ******. Forgot what he did, but it was quite douchy. Next thing I know he wins a two of my small dollar auctions and pays via paypal then drops negatives immediately.

Contacted ebay. I got his money, sent out his items, and he -- an ebay user with about 3000 feedback -- was suspended.

:)

I only have a few negatives/neutrals over my ebay career, but had one recently. I sold a card that turned out to not be pack-pulled/certified. The card was a redemption that never got signed, donruss backdoored the cards, some guy apparently got a few signed, and one came in a lot I bought. I was unaware of all this when I sold the card. The guy who bought it got it and told me and I said "Wow, you're right. Send it back and I'll send you a full refund. Sorry about that!"
He never returned it, dropped a neg on me for selling a "fake card" and then never replied.
Moral of the story: there's no pleasing some people. In the long run, none of the negs have hurt me, other than being annoying, and I doubt they'll hurt you either.

There is no excuse for the few ebays you have come across, but you do alot of bidness on the bay and the more people you deal with the more of a chance to run across jackh@les.

It doesn't always work, but contact eBay directly and let them know that the buyer never gave you the chance to rectify the situation. I've had at least one negative removed from my account by eBay after I did everything right to fix a situation, but the buyer screwed me anyways. Worth a shot.

I'm always paranoid a sleeve, top loader, and a bubble mailer aren't enough to protect a game used card. And I've gotten some damaged this way. It's not often, but does happen, especially on jumbo swatches and when sellers don't use the small bubble mailers. I take it the buyer didn't want to bother sending a message and paying $1.50 in return shipping instead of just leaving a neutral and keeping the card because it becomes a pain in the butt after a while. And if the buyer was a dick, he'd have left you a negative instead.

I had a guy drop a neg on me for not giving a refund BEFORE he would send the card back. I was on the phone with eBay for 2 hours and got nowhere. They said he "had the right because his transaction with me was a negative one". Nice that they allow feedback extortion. Is there anywhere else you can demand a full refund without returning the item??

How about this one:

I sold a $5.50 card right before x-mas. I mailed it out with DLC on X-mas eve. So I get a message around the 5th of Jan asking where the card was. Understandable, I'd begin to wonder too.

So I send an immediate message saying that all the DLC was showing acceptance on the 24th of December and agreed that the package had been taking too long and I'd contact the post office to find out what might have happened. I even offered to refund the $7.50 (price +shipping) if the package didn't show up in the next five days or so.

Three days later I get a case opened against me with the buyer saying that they wanted a full refund, this was about the 9th. Fine whatever, I refunded the money, it's only $7.50.

On the 12th it shows the post office finally delivered the package to the person... and of course I get no message for the buyer.

In sum: The post office screws me with late delivery, I'm out a card and $7.50.... and even worse I have a case against me; one more and getting top rated seller will be very difficult for while. Needless to say, I'll be calling eBay on this. I don't care about the money or the card, I don't need my account tarnish over something I had no control over.

I feel for you TS.

I never got a negative, but I'm hoping they can remove an open case against me. I doubt it will happen though.

Hey man,

As a seller mostly on eBay, I feel your frustration. But, just remember this-a 100% positive feedback mark is seriously tough to have nowadays. I communicate with buyers as much as I can, and ship things within the amount of days I list as "handling time"-but still end up with neutral or negatives now and then. It's just the nature of the beast.

So many really uneducated buyers out there-you are bound to run into some. Don't let it get to you-it isn't going to affect your seller status if you sell enough. If you worry about 100% positive, you are just setting yourself up for failure.

Keep selling, and just shake your head when you run into dumb buyers. I once had a buyer leave a neutral that said "nice card, thanks" or something like that. I think he hit the wrong thing, who knows. But, who cares-life goes on. Keep selling.
