So looks like the folks at Hockey have a bigger brain than the monkeys at MLB.
In case you havent read (is there a Hockey board here?), NHL added Panini and is going with two....TWO.....card companies instead of an exclusive single company.

So now the only sport, perhaps the only major sport in the entire world, that Panini doesnt have a license for.....is Baseball ::facepalm::

How many releases does NHL allow its licensees per year?

Fewer the better IMO.

UD hockey has featured on card autos for a long time now. Will Panini?

You are aware that the whole recent "exclusive" thing got started by the NHL and UD, right? So now that UD is on the proverbial ropes, and the NHL is looking to cover themselves with another licensee in case UD goes belly up, they are somehow to be looked up to?

No thanks.
