Well I told the morning crew today in the AM about me heading to Yankee Stadium if only my boss let me. Here's the short story:
I arrived @ the Stadium with 25 degrees weather @ 1pm. Police gates were placed @ the side of Yankee Stadium as their were about 25 people who wanted Autos, pictures and spectators. Finally, about 3:30 Tex came out w/ his family and Security and Police along with 30 people from the Media. Tex had to cross three (3) streets from the Old Stadium to the New Stadium. It was complete mayhem as Cars and trucks passed by and Tex stopping traffic all over River Avenue. He walked and signed but in an uncomfortable manner as Autograph seekers were pushing and shoving and the Media wanted shots of every move. He finally arrived to the New Stadium. He stood there for about an hour viewing features of the New Yankee Stadium. A blue suburban was waiting for him outside the new stadium w/ tight Security. Tex comes out with Police, Yankee security, family and etc...@ 4:30. He quickly stopped and signed for the first couple of people but things got out of hand and inside the Suburban @ about 4:36pm and I thought well fours (4) spent for nothing until I saw there was traffic ahead on the highway. All the autographs seekers left but I walked towards the Major Deegan Expressway with ongoing construction work. I walked along the sidewalks and spotted the Suburban. The traffic light was RED. I signed to the way on the passenger seat to roll down the window as Tex was sitting in the back of the SUB. The window opens and here it is:
