I doubt many are paying attention, but with half the season gone by it has been an exciting year so far for Hoosier baseball. With today's win over Illinois the Hoosiers have won 18 straight (longest streak in the country), with an overall record of 25-3 (8-0 Big Ten). Indiana is currently ranked 17th according to the NCAA.

In addition to their amazing start on the field (local paper has dubbed them the Hot Start Hoosiers), this year also marks the opening of Bart Kaufman Stadium. This high tech facility is a massive improvement from the rather "high school-esque" field of past years. IU notched the largest crowd in the 119 year history of sponsored baseball with 2,757 fans watching the first ever night game this past Friday.

Thank you, I really appreciate your comment and taking a look at the site. For those that have never looked at my site, or haven't looked recently, I've been working on the "history" part of this collection. I've written bios, playing achievements, and any other information I can find for the players from 1907-1949. I know the site still needs a lot of work (especially the IU Home Page), but I really like the progress I've made so far.


If anyone ever has any comments on how to make the site look better I will take any suggestions or criticism. Also if anyone wants to swap links for our websites (to help raise SEO scores) I'd be more than willing to link your site.

With the series win vs. OSU this weekend IU claims its first outright Big Ten Title since 1932. Tournament play begins on Wednesday, with Indiana's first game on Thursday.

Also, sophomore Kyle Schwarber was selected to the USA Collegiate Team. Can't wait for some Panini cards of his. He is also a finalist for the Golden Spikes season award (for best player), and the Johnny Bench Award (for best catcher).

It has been an awesome year so far, and I hope that the success can continue into the tournament games.

Ten new cards. The first two are from the Jim Rowe Postcards series which were produced from 1960-1980. The checklist for these 'cards' are filled with obscure players who generally did not have many, or any cards made of them. I'm calling them both 1960 cards, even though I have no idea what years they are from, and the Andres is matte, while the Brickner is glossy, so they were no produced in the same batch.

A lot of news from Hoosier land in the past two weeks.

COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. Let me repeat that, THE FREAKING COLLEGE WORLD SERIES!!!! Games start tonight and can't wait. First time ever for the Hoosier, and the first time for a Big Ten team since Barry Larkin's Michigan team in 1984.

Not bitter at all. Purdue had an outstanding season, possibly their best ever, and we took them to the last inning of the championship game (after playing 11 innings the same day against MSU, 20 innings total in one day), so congrats to them. IU will be better next year considering they ended the year on a 15-5 run, and half the team (17/34) were freshman.

I'd like to say that I called this, but even I couldn't have imagined we'd be this good. While Kyle Schwarber and Sam Travis are the top players, the team is stacked from 1-9 with three outstanding starting pitchers and a solid bullpen. They are legitimate contenders to win the whole thing.

Three players were taken in the 2013 MLB amateur draft. All by the Twins (weird)

Jake Dunning of the San Francisco Giants becomes the 22nd IU player to reach the pros. It should be noted that the IU record book will list him as the 23rd, however I think they made a mistake listing Guy Wellman as playing for the 1947 Cincinnati Reds. All records and newspapers articles I can find from 1947 (and trust me I've done my research), plus an interview with him in 2006 says that he never made it to the pros. Baseball Reference and Google News searches show that he was playing in low class A during 1947 without even sniffing the majors.

I've also completed the history/bio project for the years of 1950-1979 IU 1950-1979 - IUjapander Cards and have made some progress on 1980-1989 IU 1980-1989 - IUjapander Cards. These pages are not done, but the hard work is and will just need to do some tweaking and aesthetic changes once I get the hard part done for all of the years.

Finally, here are six new Alex Dickerson cards. The superfractor is one of those backdoored/fake/test proof/sample/uncut/whatever you want to call it, but I'm simply calling it "no serial number"
