He fights out of Golden Glory, which is mainly a k1/kickboxing academy. If his contract allows him to, he probably loves to fight in K-1?
Before any of these guys started getting paid for MMA, they did their original sport for the love of it.

Not only is he fighting in K-1, he is doing very well. He's in the year end tournament next month. Trust me, the K-1 pay days are EXTREMELY nice. Plus, competing with that level of strikers is only going to do good things for his mma game.

Oh, I know this, but when you are signed to fight for three organizations and you bash the "sport" of two of them, there is a problem.

Either you like MMA or your don't. Either you want to fight the best in the world and get your paycheck, or you want to fight guys you easily run through.

Overeem is a nasty, gifted fighter, but he likes to sit back and take the easy road.

I should add that Strikeforce needs to throw some good money at him to headline their next primetime card.

With Fedor out, he should come in and take on Werdum.

If the easy road is fighting Badr Hari, Bonjasky, and Aerts in K-1, then I would love to see the hard road.
Seriously Adam, those 3 guys in K-1 are the same as fighting Nogueira, Randy, and and Mir in MMA. The fact that he KO'd Hari as well is impressive and most felt his loss to Remy was a razor thin decision.
Believe me, the competition in K-1 for him is harder than in MMA. Theres really only 1 fight for him in MMA and thats Fedor.
He destroys Werdum. He destroys Bigfoot. He already beat the tar out of Buentello. And he would pick apart Brett Rogers.

^^ This!

Hari, Remy and Aerts are some of the greatest kickboxers in the world.

As far as taking the easy road, he has said on multiple occasions that he wants a shot at Fedor.

He'd get KTFO just like The Grim!

Agreed, but Overeem is a more dangerous opponent than Rogers and one of the last guys left for Fedor to fight.

Overeem would put a beating on Rogers.

I am sold on the fact that the Demolition man is more of a legit HW MMA fighter than Brett Rogers, but I'm not completely sold on Overeem really. Is he good, yeah. Is he elite? I don't really think so.

OK, I guess my choice of words was poor in my post. I didn't mean to imply that the K-1 circuit are easy opponents. I guess I wanted to talk about his constant disdain for MMA, even though he is signed to fight in two MMA organizations.

I love watching K-1, even though I'm not as up on it as you guys are, but I think Overeem faces a stiff challenge in the MMA landscape.

Overeem would do well. He would land some decent shots. But Fedor would either land the one shot that counts or end up submitting Alistair. And this is coming from a big Overeem fan.
