Unless I'm totally drawing a blank, there is no topps rc of a hall of famer pictured in a yankee uniform.

Not something you'd expect considering both legacy.

Well it's a technicality but Tony Kubek is in the Hall of Fame as a recipient of Ford C. Frick Award and his rookie card is in 1957 Topps pictured as a Yankee.

In terms of players elected for their playing careers though the good money is on Jeter being the first.

Interesting....

I guess the closest thing may be the 52 Topps Mantle, although not considered a true RC by the hobby purists, it is still considered his RC card (despite the 1951 Bowman) to many. However, I have a feeling you were eagerly anticipating such a response.

Wait, I'm not a vintage expert or anything nor am I a historical expert by any means. But what about whitey ford? Or scooter?

I thought about the bowman before I thought about the 52 topps but I quickly snapped to the fact that bowman wasn't owned by topps originally. As for people considering his 52 topps a rookie, not sure why.
