Will they ever go back to game used jerseys for rookies like in 2006 National Treasures?

Pretty cool. I'll have to listen to this one.

Something I would inquire about is if Panini has done any research into what markers to use on their cards, as many of their on card autos seem to bubble or separate.

Are you going to be doing National Treasures for basketball?

I got that answer at the National from Dave Porter. He said they will not be this year, because they do not have the game used inventory to do it justice.

What kind of measures are you guys taking to help deter people from taking a plain 1 color jersey swatch out and replacing it with a fake patch? Maybe a thin clear plastic layer on top of the card, encasing the swatch inside the card?

From reading that article and watching the video where Scott Prusha was interviewed, it sounds to me that you would have to send the suspected fake patch card into Panini and then they can use their Kodak Traceless reader to see if it's real or not, correct??? If so, who wants to go through with all that? I know I wouldn't, I'd rather there be a thin plastic layer on top of the card so that there isn't a way to get to the patch without severely damaging the card. I could care less if I'm not able to touch the patch, which was pretty much UD's reply when I commented on their Facebook page. They said, "We want collectors to be as close to the game as we can get them".....what a JOKE!!! If I want to get close to the game, I'll buy tickets to the game.

What is the point of having a jersey in the card if you cannot touch it? The Kodak stuff was there for 2007 in NT and seemed to work well since I have not noticed many fakes from there.

Here is another question for him:

As a game used jersey collector, I have multiple jerseys with repairs. How come we do not see these in cards? Are they used for like one game or do they choose not use those pieces? I think if they could work in a subset with repairs, that would be very unique for them.

I'm sure we've ALLLLLL touched a patch before, do you need to touch one everytime you get another one? They remind me of fireworks, you've seen them dozens of times, but in the end, it's always the same.

I would rather buy a card with a sick patch under a thin plastic layer than buying a card that doesn't have the plastic layer and having the same patch, because that card could've originally had a 1 color patch in it and then altered with the fake patch. Maybe that's just my way of thinking, I don't know, but something needs done about it.

Ask him where they buy their game used jerseys from? Do they work with JO Sports and MeiGray on getting stuff. Also, do they keep records on what they cut up and keep documents on the jerseys. Like photographs of them before being cut up, who authenticated them, where they were purchased and who in fact does buy these jerseys. Also, where in hell do they get anything Steelers or Patriots game used from, both teams are known to not let very little get out.

Ask him what were they thinking by cutting off the heads of every player in Certified?
Quite possibly the worst designed cards I've ever seen!

I was thinking the same thing.

Definately not the worst design ever, but they all look miss cut to me.

Tell him we are VERY CONCERNED about the quality of the autographs in this years coming National Treasures and the Contenders rookie tickets. It appears from their photos on facebook that the autos are on card, but what is wrong is it also appears that the autos are signed on a very glossy surface and the autos are "running" like this one...
