The Minis are back.

Topps unveiled the first glimpses at its first online-exclusive product of the year to Beckett Media on Thursday as it’s readying 2013 Topps Mini for release with its first public arrival at the National Sports Collectors Convention starting on July 31 in suburban Chicago.

While the cards inside the packs of this one are small — just 2 1/4 by 3 1/8 inches — versions of the cards you have already seen, there’s one big inclusion among those on the autograph checklist.

That’s Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig. It will be his first MLB autograph to arrive live into packs when this one arrives. (His other autographed cards from Topps have been redemptions.)

As with the standard-card release, there are 660 cards to be found in this one — this time, all under one type of wrapper — but there will be just one insert set (Chasing History), one autograph set and one Relic set. It also should have parallels and printing plates as last year’s did.

There will be 10 cards per pack and one autograph or Relic found in every 24-pack box. Boxes will be $52.99 on the site and $50 at the show.

The autograph checklist includes 35 players, a mix of stars from the past and present. Joining Puig are Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, Mike Trout, Yu Darvish, Cal Ripken Jr., Buster Posey and even the late Duke Snider and Johnny Podres.

Over on the 50-card Relics checklist, notables include Ken Griffey Jr., Justin Verlander, Mike Mussina, Fred McGriff, Posey and Alex Rodriguez. It’s a list that includes many younger players from today.

We’ll have more details on this one soon.

Anyone know how many complete sets were produced last year and how many there will be this year?

I would think these autos being live has to make everyone with a redemption feel a lot better about their chances of getting the actual card.

They were hot last year but fizzled out about a month or so after release. I wont be buying this year.

I'm still selling last years base weekly on SL. I will be down for another handful of boxes.

If the reg. checklist has JJ, I'll be buying them. Glad he doesn't have a JSY or Auto.

I just finished my Descalso rainbow from last years Mini set like 3 days ago lol. Here we go again! Glad to see him get a relic again but they have to be close to running out of jersey swatches for him, it has been the same grey jersey pieces for 2 years.

How many boxes to a case on this? Last year I opened 8 boxes direct from Topps and I couldn't put together even one damn set (close, but not complete). Getting a full case increases the odds of completing, so if I'm foolish enough to do it again...

I thought the Puig auto was going to be live. Maybe I'm missing something.
