A little steep for an App at $14.99. Is it worth getting?

Yeesh, third year, third price increase.

Personally, I *love* being able to listen to radio broadcasts of any game. The video comes about 2-3 minutes after a play, too. I will be dl'ing it soon enough, but my HDD on my desktop (which had my iTunes stuff) just completely crashed.

When I'm putting my 3 year old to bed, I'll sometimes listen to the Yankees game - my daughter wants to listen with me.

I feel pretty cheap thinking $15 is expensive anyway, even if it is for an App. If it's good, it's good and $15 ain't much. Guess I'll have to get it today :D

Just thinking along the lines of iphone stuff.....

If you are mainly getting it for listening to games, there are radio apps out there that broadcast local stations all over. Some of them are free too. I know there's one that does the Detroit station.

I have the wonder radio app which gets every radio station but it will not play baseball games. At least it won't play baseball games from my local station.

Terrific app. Bummed that they raised the price again, but there are a few features so far that weren't there last year. I love being able to put my iPod in any dock in the house, or use the headphones and go mobile and listen to the Twins, Cardinals or whoever. Gameday on the go is awesome, too.

make sure you guys get the "fcb app" as well

search for tapa talk

then inside the $2.99 tapa talk app, search for Freedom Card Board and you will go right to it.

Hmm... I'll have to check it out. You might be right on the blackouts. I think some stations aren't allowed to broadcast over the internet.

Sling player mobile is always another option for those with sling players of course.

The day that Apple opened the App Strore i picked up MLB at Bat.

Then they made another in 2009.

Now another in 2010.

Great. I'm glad that other apps dont expire after a year.

So what is the deal with this app?

Is it just audio, like game-cast on ESPN, or live tv feed?

It's only live tv feed if you have the mlb.tv subscription. for $14.99 you get audio for every game, box scores, videos, news and injury updates, at the ball park...which I'm not sure what that does yet, and I'm hearing more development is being added as the season progresses.

The key to this app being worth it is being able to WATCH every game LIVE (it syncs up flawlessly with your mlb.tv account)!!! You can listen to radio feeds too, but watching is the best part - and the quality is remarkable when you consider what you're doing - watching live streaming video on a cell phone. I had it last season and when they added the live video feed, I was addicted to it. I purchased the 2010 edition as well and can't wait for the season to start.
