With all the young talent they have in there lineup I tell you its a prospectors dream.
If they were to make it to the playoffs next year I could at unload all my Neil Walker, Jose Tabata, Pedro Alverez, Andrew McCutchen and Brad Lincoln cards
As a fan, I am happy with the direction the roster is headed, and hopefully there will be a window within the next few years where the team can contend.
However, from a prospecting standpoint, I think you are significantly overestimating the market. There just simply aren't many people collecting Pirate cards. While I'm sure there would be an increase in prices if the team starts winning on a regular basis, that is still a few years off and the collector base has been severely eroded by almost 2 decades of losing.
While I like the upcoming bats in the Buccos system, I think that pitching is and will continue to be a major problem. Lincoln should be good, but beyond him...?
