Is anyone else GLAD Pujols didn't get 50 HR?

This may seem like a weird topic.

I'm glad Pujols didn't get 50 HR this season and I hope he never does.

Why?

Right now I still view Hank Aaron as the home run king. I always have. And looking over his career I was always astonished that he never obtained 50 HR in a season. That to me is a mark of longevity and consistency of GREATNESS.

I honestly believe Pujols has a shot at passing Bonds one day. I think he is the greatest hitter I have ever witnessed BY FAR. I think most of his home runs are an attribute to how GREAT of a hitter he is and not his POWER (believe me he has power, I just think most of his home runs are not b/c of SHEER strength like most of Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder's are).

I know it's off-the-wall but I hope Pujols never hits 50 HR in a season. I think that will help define the COMPLETE hitter he actually is. That sounds completely crazy, I know.

Does anyone understand me?

That really tells me this Pujols guy is something else.

If he keeps it up for another 10 years and with no accusations of PED use, he might just be one of the Top 5 to ever play the game.

He will never be considered the Greatest hitter of all time by the majority. There are to many people who consider Aaron, Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, or even Bonds ahead of him. Its a matter of opinion. If he did get over .400 and over 650-700 homeruns then maybe the argument could be made.

Im not trying to knocking you opinion, you are entitled to it. Im just saying that the mojority will never say that. Heck, he could have a season of .421, 81, 205 and have career numbers better than anyones, and the majority would probably say he isnt the greatest. To man haters here.

Agreed, in the end i see him in the same class as bonds, ruth, williams, etc but to be ahead of all them by a lot...he would need to set numerous records and have almost unreachable stats!

Pujols - Hit 40+HR's 5 times (including 09') over the span of 9 seasons.

Yes, for the older generation, but as time wears on in the next 10 to 20 years, you will see Pujols (assuming he keeps it up) be used in the same breath as Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, etc.
